Udupi : Youth scatters fake notes on road ; flees

Udupi, April 13, 2020:   In a bizarre incident reported from the Vadiraja Road in the town, an unidentified youth all of a sudden began  to scatter  currency notes of 2,000, 500 and 200 denominations taking  locals by surprise.

 

Some locals who  tried to  pick the notes were taken aback on realising that they were fake notes. All the counterfeit currency notes were  collected and handed over to the police by social activist Madhukar Mudrady.

An attempt by the locals to catch hold of the youth who scattered the fake notes, was unsuccessful. Udupi Sub-Inspector Satyavelu visited the spot.

Meanwhile some rumours are agog that the notes were scattered as part of a ploy to spread coronavirus infection.
