Udupi: Woman allegedly commits suicide setting herself on fire

Udupi, Feb 20, 2019 : A woman allegedly committed suicide by setting herself ablaze on February 20, Tuesday  near Mabukala in Brahmavar.

 

 

The deceased is identified as Ashwini Marakalthi wife of Purushotthama, a worker in a fishing boat in Malpe. They were married just two months ago

Preliminary investigation revealed that Ashwini had poured kerosene on herself and set herself ablaze. She suffered severe burns and died on the way to a Mangaluru hospital.

Ashwini reportedly was under treatment for mental illness and depression that forced her take the extreme step is suspected.

Case has been registered.
