Udupi: Unidentified biker stabs 2 auto drivers; 1 killed

Udupi, Jan 29, 2017: In a shocking incident reported from near the Karavali Circle in the city, an unidentified bike rider indiscriminately stabbed two autorickshaw drivers killing one of them on the spot.

 

The incident occurred in the dead of the night at around 12.30 am on January 29, Sunday. The deceased driver has been identified as Hanif (54). Another driver named Shabbir (55) who is critically injured has been rushed to the hospital.

According to sources, when Haneef was heading towards Karavali Circle from Nittoor he was reportedly on the wrong side of the road which was objected by the bike rider who intercepted the autorickshaw. When there arose an argument between the two, another driver joined Haneef.

 All of a sudden the bike rider who took out a knife which he had stabbed the two before fleeing.

Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased have alleged that there were three other accused in the case.

Udupi police are investigating the case.
