Udupi : Trio arrested for cricket betting; Rs 3.88 lakh seized

 Udupi, Mar 20, 2015 : As many as three persons who were involved in betting on the India –Bangladesh World Cup Match were arrested during a raid on a flat near Kolambe on March 19, Thursday by the Udupi Police. The raid followed a tip off and police seized a cash of Rs 3.88 lakh,four cell phones, a tab, a television set and a diary from the accused.

Those arrested are Ramesh Poojary (52) of Moodanidambur, Sukesh Rao and Anand Poojary. It is said the police had first arrested Sukesh  who was in the flat. The other two were subsequently arrested based on the information provided by Sukesh.

All the three have been produced before the court.
