Udupi : Thieves target 2 shops at Gundibail ; decamp with valuables

Udupi, Mar 8, 2016 :   As many as two shops at Gundibail were  burgled  during the wee hours of March 8, Wednesday. Ultra Tech cement dealership outlet and  Deepak Jewellers are the shops which were burgled. However, though  the shutter of   Photo Touch studio was found broken nothing has been robbed.

 It has been gathered that thieves have  stolen   2.5 kg silver articles worth nearly Rs 1.5 lakhs including chains , anklets, bangles and waist belt from Deepak  jewellers while a cash of Rs 20,000 was stolen from Ultra Tech cement shop. The thieves however did not steal the laptop and other valuable goods in the shop. 

The clever thieves had bolted from outside  the houses of the studio and jeweller owners  who reside in the rented accommodation  above the shops.

Senior police officials including DySP Kumaraswamy and others have visited the spot and are conducting investigations.
