Udupi : Syndicate Bank Udupi Half Marathon sees enthusiastic participation

Udupi, Dec 15, 2014 : The Syndicate Bank Udupi Half Marathon organised in the city on December 14, Sunday saw an enthusiastic participation by hundreds of people. The event organised by the Udupi District Athletic Association was flagged off by noted actor Prakash Rai near the Syndicate Bank Head Office.

The 21 km half marathon culminated at the starting point itself after passing through  Tiger Circle, MGM College Road, Diana Road, Udyavar Cross, Kinnimulki, Ajjarkad, Diana Circle, Kalsanka and Kadiyali.

As part of the event races  were conducted in three age categories, while there was also a three km race under the celebrity section for those interested, as well as government employees.

The  first three prize winners in  men’s and women’s half marathon  were awarded cash prizes of Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.

 The winners in Men’s Half Marathon are  : 1. Sadashiva S (SDM Sports club, Ujire); 2. Sharath (Alva’s College, Moodbidri, 3. Siddarayappa ( Alva’s College, Moodbidri).

The first three winners in women’s section are Jyothi Shetty, Nandini  Bhat and Premakala S Rao.
