Udupi : Suspension of constable Prakash revoked

Udupi, April 15, 2017 : The recent suspension order of Prakash, a constable attached to the Malpe Police Station after he allegedly assaulted a man who teased his pregnant wife, has been revoked. He has been reportedly transferred to Karkala police station.

The issue of the cop’s suspension had invited a lot of controversy as the alleged eve teaser Kumar was a tractor driver working for a factory owned by Udupi District in-charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj.

It was alleged  that Kumar had suffered a damage of spine due to the assault. He had reportedly teased the cop’s wife who was standing outside an ATM while the cop was withdrawing money. Prakash had immediately informed the Hoysala  squad and had even reportedly slapped Kumar.

Meanwhile, the case took a new twist when it was  stated that the minister and his wife were behind the suspension of  Prakash. 

The BJP had seized the opportunity to criticise the minister and had even staged a protest.
