Udupi : Speeding bus kills beauty parlour owner

Udupi, Feb 21, 2020: A beauty parlour owner hailing from Ambalpady lost her life when a speeding bus rammed into a two-wheeler at Kinnimulki on February 20, Thursday evening.

The deceased is Mamatha Poojary (35), wife of Alevoor Gram Panchayat Member Sudhaker Poojary.

Mamatha and her husband were heading towards the Govinda Kalyana Mantapa from a petrol bunk at Kinnimulki when tragedy struck.

The AKMS  bus which was proceeding  towards Udupi from Mangaluru  hit the  two-wheeler the result of which was that Mamatha came under the tyres of the bus  and died on the spot. The impact of the collision was such that the bus had dragged the scooter upto some distance.

Both the driver and conductor of the bus are absconding. Sources said the driver was speaking over mobile phone when the accident took place.
