Udupi, April 23, 2015 : Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA of Udupi has informed that the government has approved the sanction of Rs 20.35 crores for various projects in Udupi constituency including laying of roads, construction of bridges as well as buildings for educational institutions.
Speaking to reporters here on April 22, Wednesday, Madhwaraj said the Government Girls’ PU College in the town will get Rs 50 lakhs while Rs 10 crore has been sanctioned for a 1.5 km long bridge across Swarna river.
Commenting on the power problem, Pramod blamed the Prime Minister for the same saying Modi had earlier promised 24x7 power supply.
He said under the JN-NURM project, city bus will operate in Udupi. The city has also has its share of Rs 33 crore in CMC Nagarothana Fund, the MLA informed.
Janardhan Tonse, President of Udupi Town Planning Authority, Yuvaraj, CMC President, Veronica Carnelio, President of Karnataka Soaps and Detergents were also present at the press meet.
