Udupi SP Annamalai to be transferred on promotion?

Udupi, Dec 28, 2015:  There are all indications of a likely transfer on promotion for  Udupi’s popular as well as upright  Superintendent of Police  Annamalai. It has been gathered that he may be  posted as DCP (West) in Bengaluru, a post presently held by Labhu Ram, a former SP of Dakshina Kannada.

It is also learnt that Labhu Ram may be transferred to Lokayukta and in all likelihood may replace Sonia Narang.

Some other sources meanwhile indicate that Annamalai’s transfer may be put off in the wake of the Zilla Panchayat elections to be held  in another couple of months. Moreover, public are also against the transfer of a sincere officer like Annamalai.

 Annamalai who had first served as ASP of Karkala with additional in-charge of Kundapur was made the SP of Udupi a year ago.  His promotion as SP in Udupi was an exception as normally an ASP who had served in a district was not given a promotion in the same district.

 Though earlier there were allegations that some vested interests had a role behind Annamalai’s likely transfer, the SP himself had denied such allegations.
