Udupi RTA meet to dispose many cases - July 29

Udupi, July 29, 2015  :  At least 70 cases were taken up at the 6th Regional Transport Authority meeting under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner.  DC Dr R Vishal said 86 issues would be taken up by the RTA meet to be held on August 29.


DC Dr R VishalHe said district magistrate notification is extended to Parika in Parkala following the density of the vehicles in Manipal area.   The traffic study was taken up with the help of the experts in Gundibailu, Balaipade, Manipal, Adi-Udupi, Beedengudde, Mission hospital and DC office area. Additional buses are sought in these areas. He said the RTA cannot give extra buses to KSTRTC and private services.

Out of 70 cases, 10 are concerned with licenses variations, six are related to new licenses and license renewal and 50 related to the new licenses for the KSRTC buses to ply in the route extending from Kundapur-Bhatkal, Mangaluru-Udupi-Bhatkal, Kundapur-Udupi-Karkala, Malpe-DC Office and Kundapur-Amparu. Jaya Shetty from Karkala alleged that even after the bus price coming down, the buses especially in Karkala region are not implementing the revised bus fare.


  The buses are not issuing printed tickets, he added. Udupi DC  will into the issue it is noted.
