Udupi RTA clears decks for rural bus services

Udupi, Oct 30, 2015: Speaking to media, the Udupi DC Dr. R. Vishal, on Oct 29 said that the  RTA - Regional Transport Authority had cleared 563 applications for bus permits in rural areas of the district.  DC  Dr. Vishal said that almost all these permit applications, which had been cleared, pertained to the Karnataka Road Transport Corporation buses.

The intention was to provide bus facilities in those remote areas in rural areas which did not have buses. This would be of benefit not just for the people but also school and college students. This would ensure the safety of the students also. It would take about a year for bus services to begin in the remote areas.
