Udupi : Pvt operators vent ire against KSRTC buses at RTA meet

Udupi, Aug 31,2017 :  The KSRTC low floored buses which are operating in Udupi district have already invited the ire  of the private operators who once again expresed their displeasure over the functioning of the buses, while participating in the  RTA meeting held under the leadership of Udupi Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis on August 30, Wednesday.

Speaking at the meeting,  Udupi District Bus Operators Association President Kuyilady Suresh Nayak  accused the government buses of  not adhering to timings and of resorting to unhealthy competition with private buses thereby incurring losses to the owners of the latter. Let the government nationalise all routes if necessary, we will opt for some other profession," he thundered.

Many private bus owners as well as their representatives present at the meeting poured complaints galore that the government buses were creating trouble and causing trafic jam. Finally, SP Dr Sanjeev M Patil had to interfere  asking them to cite any particular instance or else keep quiet.

One of  the participant Hebri Sanjeeva Shetty took strong exception to the attitude of the bus operators.  This invited the ire of the private bus owners who even tried to take him to task  no sooner the DC   walked out after the meeting ended. The SP who was present took the private bus owners to task once again and asked them to move out  of the venue.

Earlier, speaking at the meeting, Deputy Commissioner  Priyanka Mary Francis directed bus operators and public to submit their grievances or objections if any, in writing so that suitable action could be taken.
