Udupi Police arrests Avinash, Basavaraj & others for illegal transportation of cattle

Udupi, November 25, 2015: Udupi district police arrested six persons and registered case against eight persons under Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act for illegally transporting cattle to abettors in violation of various Act in three separate incidents.
 
Hebri Police Assistant Sub Inspector Seethrama has arrested one Avinash BS and Basavaraj and seized  three cattle and vehicle used for illegally transporting cattle in violation of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, here in Udupi district. One Venkatesh absconding after he fled from the scene.

On Tuesday night, ASI Seethrama and his team found transportation of three cattle in a Mahindra Maximo vehicle bearing registration number KA 14 A8844 in front of Hebri Grama Panchayath office.  While searching the vehicle one Venkatesh fled from the place and police got hold of other two including driver of the vehicle.

They were transporting three cattle in violation of THE KARNATAKA PREVENTION OF COW SLAUGHTER. AND CATTLE PRESERVATION ACT, 1964, Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 and Motor Vehicles Act.Hebri police filed case against three persons and seized three cattle worth Rs.2,000, vehicle worth Rs. 2 lakh and three ropes.

In another incident, Heriadka Police arrested Benjamin Martis and Gawdvin Fernandis of Mudubelle Kattangeri village for illegally transporting two bulls towards Kerala on 25 November Wednesday. They are taking the cattle without any valid papers, police sources said. ASI Shekhar registered a case under the Act.
 
On wee hours of 25 November, Kota Police Sub Inspector Kabbal Raj arrested three persons for preparing to illegally transport three cows near Chikka Marlu Temple in Billadi village. Arrested are one Santhosh Shetty and Krishna. Another accused Razak fled from the place when police reached the spot. Police seized one motor cycle , three mobile phone sets and Rs. 32,000 in cash.
