Udupi NRI launches website for missing mother

Udupi, July 28, 2016:  The CEO of a Seattle-based IT company, who hails from Udupi, has launched a website for his missing mother after the family exhausted all avenues to trace her.

 

Satish Shetty’s mother Malathi, 65, was reported missing from the family’s ancestral home in Korgi village of Kundapur taluk on June 24. He had announced Rs 1-lakh reward for any credible information about his mother 10 days back.

In an e-mail, Shetty stated, "It has been 45 days, still no news about my mom. My father’s (Kedoor Bhaskar Shetty, a retired schoolteacher) health is also started deteriorating. Please spread the word to bring awareness throughout India (sic)."

 

Satish is the founder-CEO of Codeproof Technologies. He had earlier worked with Microsoft, McAfee and NashSoft Systems. He announced the reward through a WhatsApp post.


Shetty posted in the website www.MomMissing.org: "On June-24, She left house around 1.30pm and we have not heard back from her since. I rushed to India on July 4 and stayed till July 19 to step up the search efforts. I met Udupi SP Annamalai and appealed to him to fast-track the search and inquiry process. It is already 45 days now, still no clues about my mother (sic)."

 

"At that time of missing, she was wearing a cream white saree with baby pink blouse. She is 65-year-old and 5.5 ft tall, of fair complexion. The best way to recognize her is by looking at her toe fingers and they are not all straight. She was wearing almost Rs 3.75 lakh worth of gold jewellery (which is her normal daily wear). I am requesting for a public support to trace my missing mother. Please share the news in WhatsApp & social media groups."


Malathi lived with her husband Bhaskar Shetty, daughter Sarala Shetty and son-in-law Dr Ram Manohar Shetty.


Shetty stated, "Dr Ram Monohar Shetty filed an FIR at Kundapur police station on June 26. On that day around 9.30pm, I talked to Udupi Superintendent of Police K Annamalai over the phone and appealed to him. When I visited India, I also met Annamalai on July 4 and July 19 at his Udupi office. On July 17, Annamalai visited our house in India along with Deputy Superintendent of Police Manjunatha Shetty to step-up the investigation. Udupi SP has formed a special team under DSP Manjunatha Shetty and Sub-Inspector Naseer Hussain (sic)."
