Udupi Lombard hospital gets a modern lab and facilities

Udupi, Feb 11, 2017: A media release recieved at ’Mangalore Today’ confirms the inauguration of the new microbiology unit and the dedication of renovated laboratory of the 94 year old Lombard Memorial (Mission) Hospital in Udupi was held on February 9.  Rt. Rev. Mohan Manoraj, Bishop Karnataka Southern Diocese and Dr R  Sripathi, Consultant Physician at Lombard Memorial (Mission) Hospital were the Chief guests for the function. The inauguration followed a thanksgiving service led by Bishop Mohan Manoraj at 9 am in the hospital chapel.

 

Dr Sushil Jathanna, Director of LMH said that the new microbiology department is fully  equipped with the latest equipment and technology and will be headed by Dr Narayan  Peralaya who has returned from the Middle East. In addition, the laboratory has been  renovated and modernised providing a state of the art facility. This modernisation will   enable us to provide additional services in microbiology and biochemistry to our patients  at very affordable rates. The laboratory and microbiology unit will be open 24/7 hours.  The department comprises of experienced and well trained staff.

Bishop Mohan Manoraj congratulated the hospital management for all the improvements   done in the hospital and hoped that this additional service will benefit the people of  Udupi. He said the hospital was a charitable hospital dedicated to serving the people of  udupi and wished the hospital every success in its future endeavours and invoked Gods   blessings on all the staff who worked in the hospital.  Mr R Shripathy, Consultant Physician in Lombard Memorial (Mission) Hospital was  delighted with the newly renovated ward and the new microbiology department. He said  the new service will definitely benefit the patients of the hospital and requested the public  also to get their tests done in Mission Hospital which provided services at very affordable  costs.
