Udupi: Illegal abattoir at residence of ex-GP member raided in Kaup

Udupi, Sep 24, 2015: The Kaup police have seized cattle flesh and weapons used for butchering animals in a raid on an illegal abattoir which was operating from the residence of a former Gram Panchayat member Hassan Sahib on September 24, Thursday afternoon.

 

The raid followed a tip off from locals that an illegal slaughter house was operating in the area. Meanwhile, situation in the area became tense after locals who had gathered in large numbers in front of the house engaged in a heated debate with the police personnel.

The Police Department later summoned a KSRP  contingent to the spot  to ensure that there was no untoward incident.

The raid was led by ASP Suman, Circle Inspector Sunil and other police personnel.
