Udupi: ‘Fresh Up’ facility inaugurated at railway station

Udupi, Jan 05, 2019: The pay-as-you-use ‘Fresh Up’ facility was inaugurated on the first floor of Udupi railway station here on Friday.

The centre has been launched by Chennai-based Fresh Minds Services Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with IRCTC, and Konkan Railway.

The facility provides passengers a luxurious stay on flexible hourly packages combined with top-notch facilities. A chaise lounge with four separate beds and two double beds are available here under the facility.

The charge per bed in the chaise lounge is Rs. 149 plus tax for one hour, Rs. 249 plus tax for three hours, Rs. 599 plus tax for nine hours and Rs. 1,199 plus tax for 24 hours.

The cost of a double room is Rs. 499 plus tax for three hours, Rs. 799 plus tax for six hours, Rs. 1,199 plus tax for nine hours, and Rs. 1,999 plus tax for 24 hours. Speaking on the occasion, Mohammed Aasim Sulaiman, Regional Railway Manager, Konkan Railway, Karwar, informed that the passengers can book for this facility through IRCTC website and IRCTC rail connect along with direct walk-in with valid rail ticket.

This concept of luxury micro-stay will be helpful especially during night hours when the trains are running late. Passengers can take rest at ‘Fresh Up’ instead of waiting at the platform or waiting room, since the services are available on hourly basis, he said.
