Udupi : Fire mishap damages 2 shops

Udupi, Sep 16, 2020:     Two shops close by the service bus stand in the city suffered extensive damage in a fire mishap during the wee hours of September 16, Wednesday.

 

The shops that were gutted were a provision store named Mallikarjun Stores and a mobile shop. The loss has been estimated at around Rs 2 lakhs.

The fire was first  noticed at around 2.30 am by the cops on patrolling duty and the fire brigade was immediately alerted. A short circuit is said to be the cause of the fire.
