Udupi : Farm labourers stage dharna

Udupi, Feb 14, 2018: The Udupi District Committee of the Karnataka Agricultural Labourers Association staged a dharna in front of the Udupi DC office on February 14, Wednesday in support of their several demands including setting up of a welfare fund.

The protestors have demanded minimum wages, dearness allowance, Provident, fund, ESI, pension and other social security facilities for the farm labourers.

The protestors later submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner to be forwarded to the Chief Minister.

U Dasa Bhandari, District President of the Committee,  Venkatesh Koni, Secretary and other office bearers and members were present.
