Udupi: Drunken young man kills father after a quarrel

Udupi, Feb 20, 2014: A young man  who was under the influence of alcohol has reportedly hacked his father to death  after an altercation with the latter  on February 19, Wednesday night at Bidkalkatte.

The deceased is Narayana Naik (60).  It is learnt, his son Narasimha who was a habitual drinker used to often pick up a quarrel with his father. On Wednesday night during one such quarrel, he picked up a sickle and  wooden club and thrashed his father  leaving him dead.

The incident occurred right in front of the eyes of Narayana’s wife Sita. Kota police are investigating.

It has been gathered that Narayana Naika had earlier lodged a police complaint against his son for misbehaviour.
