In her appeal, released to the press here on April 16,  Tuesday, DC Korlapati wrote: “Dear voters of Udupi district, ours is the biggest democratic country in the world. We have unity in diversity as we have several languages, cultures and faiths in the country. Despite this diversity, we live together with a feeling of oneness. Ours is a sovereign, democratic, secular and developing country.”

“Voters, parliamentary elections will be held from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on April 18 to elect a stable government. On Thursday, you and your family members, who are eligible voters, should come to the polling booths and choose a suitable candidate and thus, exercise your right.”

“This election should be an inclusive one. Hence, we have made provisions in the polling booths for the differently abled, women, and senior citizens. Vehicle arrangement has been made to bring the differently abled to the booths so that they could cast their votes and return to their houses. Helpers too have been appointed.”

“Hence, you should do your duty of casting your votes without falling prey to any inducements or influence. Voting is your right and responsibility. Cast your vote without fail,” she said.
