Udupi : DC calls for 100 percent progress under Bala Suraksha programme

Udupi,June 2,2017  : Udupi Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis has called upon officials to take steps towards effective implementation of the National Bala Suraksha programme.


Priyanka MaryPresiding over a meeting to review the progress of 15 divisions pertaining to the Department of Health here on June 1, Thursday,  she said schools and Anganavadis should be intimated in advance regarding the visit of the medical  team. The  timings must be feeded on Google  Calendar and  a reminder must be sent to all Anganavadi supervisors who are provided with tables, she added and stressed the need for 100 per cent progress under the scheme.

Officials informed that last  year 2,516 students were  examined under  the scheme and 784 provided assistance.

The Deputy Commissioner informed the meeting that land has been identified for  rehabilitation of Endosulfan victims at Karkala and Chara. The District Health Officer must inspect the same and submit a report, she added.

District Health Officer Dr Rohini informed that four deaths have been reported in the district from January to May due to H1N1. There are also reports of spread of Dengue, she said adding adequate precautionary measures are being taken.
