Udupi: Crackdown on drugs; 11 arrested for drugs consumption, peddling

Udupi, September 13, 2020: In a crackdown on drugs racket, police in Udupi have arrested  11 people  from various parts of the district for either consumption of ganja or peddling drugs.

A youth identified as Russel Vian D’Souza (25) was arrested at Manipal  for consuming ganja while another named Siddharth Mida was arrested while peddling drugs in Manipal. Police have seized 350 grams ganja from him.

In another case, three persons namely Akshay Bhat, Shivaprasad Keshav and Maruk Abbas were arrested  for drugs consumption. The medical test which they were made to undergo also confirmed that they consumed drugs.

Three people namely Yajnesh K, Pavan Kumar and Akshith Kumar were arrested near the Padubidri toll gate when they were on way to Mangaluru in a car on charges of consuming drugs.

At Hemmady Junction police arrested two youth namely Sunil and Abhishek  while  in Kundapur taluk’s Gopady, a youth named Mohammad Majamil (26) was arrested.
