Udupi : Cattle Transporters brutally attacked by BD and VHP activists, 1 killed

Udupi Aug 18, 2016: Bajarang Dal And Vishwa Hindu Parishd activists bruttaly attack two persons for illegal transportation of cattle, killing one person. The incident took place at Santhekatte in Udupi district on August 17, Wednesday, at night.
The deceased is identified as Praveen Poojary (28) .He was a BJP worker. The other is identified as Akshay Devdiga (20). He is being treated at Hospital in Udupi.
It is reported that Praveen and Akshay were engaged in transporting the cattle’s in a Tempo. When they reached Santhekatte , 35 Bajarang dal and VHP activists waylaid the Tempo and attacked them with sharp weapons. During the assault Praveen was killed and Akshay was seriously injured.
On information Brahmavar police reached the spot and detained 17 persons in connection with the assault and are in search of the others involved.
Investigations are underway.
