Udupi: 3 dead, 1 critical as car overturns after tyre burst at Katapady

Udupi, Feb 28, 2014:  Three persons including a six year old child lost their lives when the tyre of their Wagon-R car exploded  on the National Highway 66 at Pangala near Katapady on February 27, Thursday.

 

It is learnt, the car went out of control of the driver no sooner the tyre burst and overturned leaving all four in the car seriously injured.

Two of them  Chethan (22) and Dhruti (6) died while being taken to the hospital, while Chaya Shetty(50) died at the hospital. Chaya’s husband Ramesh Shetty is critically injured in the mishap and is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The deceased Chethan was a plumber. It is learnt, the car passengers were on way to Udupi from Uchila when the  tragic mishap took place.

Kaup police are investigating the case.
