Udupi : 24 Mogaveera couples tie knot at mass marriage ceremony

Udupi, May 21, 2013 : A total of 24 couples belonging to the Mogaveera community tied the nuptial knot at a mass marriage ceremony held at Shamili Hall here on May 20, Monday under the aegis of Mogaveera Yuva Sanghatane and G Shanker Family Trust.

Speaking on the occasion G Shanker of the Trust, said the main objective of organizing the mass marriage function was to encourage people to shun ostentatious weddings and go in for simplicity while also discouraging the practice of dowry.

Additional Deputy Commissioner  Kumar, Manjunathayya, Chief Executive Officer of  the Taluk Panchayat , Jayashree Kotian President of Mogaveera Yuva Sanghatane and others were present.

A Large number of people including relatives of the newly wed  couples attended the function.
