UPCL told to solve problems in a month

Udupi, March 31: President of the district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) K. Udaykumar Shetty said on Tuesday that Udupi Power Corporation Ltd (UPCL) had been warned to solve the problems related to its coal-based thermal power plant near Nandikur in Udupi district within a month.

In a press release issued here, Mr. Shetty said that D.V. Sadananda Gowda, Udupi-Chikmagalur MP, held talks with vice-president (Corporate Affairs) of UPCL K. Kishore Alva on the matter.


It had been made clear to UPCL that it would not be allowed to function if people continued to face problems from the thermal plant.


The BJP Government in the State was committed to solving the problems faced by the people arising out of the thermal power plant and provide respite .
