Mangaluru, Aug 24, 2015: UAE-based BCF - Bearys Cultural Forum on August 23 donated wheelchairs to 60 needy persons and scholarships to 600 deserving students at a function held at Loyola Hall, St Aloysius College.
Speaking minister for health U T Khader said that it was a happy time to be part of a good cause to help needy students and the differently-abled of the district. Youth must work hard, build careers and support their parents. With IQ - intelligence quotient students should also cultivate EQ - emotional quotient, and SQ - spiritual quotient, all this will help society. The Forum’s aim in giving away wheelchairs to the differently-abled people of the society is to enable them to lead a life of dignity. All success to BCF in its future action in to help the needy.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that members of BCF - Bearys Cultural Forum abroad are contributing their hard-earned savings to help needy children. I really thank them for this great gesture. The effort put in by BCF to help the needy children of the society is turning the dream of former President the late Dr A P J Abdul Kalam into a reality, as he considered students the future of society.
MLA J R Lobo appreciated BCF - Bearys Cultural Forum and requested the organization to hold more such events in future to help the needy.
Six hundred economically weak PUC students were awarded scholarships, and 60 differently-abled of the district received wheelchairs. Dr B K Yusuf, president of BGF - Bearys Cultural Forum presided over the function.
M Hasan Darvesh, chairman of Darvesh Group and BCF ambassador, UAE and S M Sherif, chairman of Kushi Group, UAE were conferred Special Award and K S Saheed Karnire was honoured with ’Star of Bearys 2015’ award.
A career guidance symposium by Prof Dr Kaup Mohammed, dean of UAE London American City College was organized in the forenoon. Toppers of the district in arts, science and commerce streams and achievers in sports were felicitated.
