UAE, Sheikh Hamdan Award for Udupi lad

Mangaluru, May 12, 2018: Brent D’Souza, hailing from Udupi and studying in Cambridge International School, Dubai, has won the Sheikh Hamdan Award for Distinguished Academic Excellence of 20th cycle (2017-2018).

This prestigious UAE National award was conferred on him by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Brent said, “It is the third time that I received a National Education Distinguished Award and the second time I got the Hamdan Award. Besides being honoured with this prestigious award, I had also won Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence in 2015-16."

"The first time I won during 2014-15, I was a student in The Kindergarten Starters and it was truly a turning point to me,” he added.

Hamdan Award for Distinguished Academic Performance, a GCC-wide programme was established 20 years ago.

He has also worked on eco-projects and rendered selfless support to the community and environment programmes.
