U.T. Khader, Narendra Nayak condemn journalist Lankesh’s murder

Mangaluru, Sep 6,2017: Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Minister U.T. Khader said the murder of activist-journalist Gauri Lankesh was treachery to Karnataka.

She was a voice for the voiceless and had met him last week in Vidhana Soudha regarding an issue concerning his department. The State government is committed in tracing the criminals at the earliest and ensure that they are punished for this gruesome act.

Mangaluru based, rationalist Narendra Nayak said it was an act of cowardly goons  who silenced the voice of reason by bullets. As a person who was facing threat from such organisations, he said he had lost a good friend and a supporter. Gauri Lankesh was not afraid to speak her mind on any issue that she felt important. Prof Nayak said it was a shame that society was tolerating forces that are trying to silence the voice against irrationalism and communalism.

Protest Today : Activists of the Democratic Youth Federation of India and Students Federation of India will stage a protest today Sept 6, Wednesday to condemn the killing. The protest will be held near theDK DC’s office at 5 p.m.
