Two teenagers meet watery grave at Badiadka

Kasargod, June 28, 2014:  Two teenagers  were reported drowned in a  lake near Mavinakatte at Badiadka while they were swimming on June 27, Friday evening.

The deceased are Sadique(17), son of Abdul Rehman  and Ayesha and Abdul Waris (16) son of Abdul Khader and Jameela couple.

It is said the duo had  been to the lake  in a government land at Pallattamoole near Mavinakatte to have a swim when the tragedy occurred. Initially, Warris  was caught in a current and was pulled in and  Sadiq  rushed to his rescue. Eventually both drowned.

The bodies were retrieved after hours of intense search by the police and fire service personnel.
The bodies were taken to the Kasargod General Hospital for a post mortem and then handed over to the families.
