Mangaluru, July 29,2017 : Two police stations aimed at handling cyber crime and drug trafficking cases will be set up in the city as per the instructions of the state government in view of the increasing cases pertaining to cyber crimes and drugs. If one station that would exclusively handle cyber crime cases will have Inspector Pavitra Teja as its head, the other station which will deal with economic and drug offences will have Muhammad Sharief as its chief. The latter will handle offences exceeding Rs 25 lakhs.
The cyber crime station will be located at the old traffic (West) station and can be contacted on 0824-2220844, 9449020335. The other station for economic and drug offences will be housed on the second floor of city (South ) Police Station and can be contacted on 0824-2220594, 9620298444.
The personnel of the two stations will conduct awareness drives in educational institutions of the city, informs City Police Commissioner T R Suresh.
