Two drown in Maravoor dam reservoir, guilt over murder case

Mangaluru, July 6, 2016: Two persons, accused in Bejai Raja murder case, drowned near Maravoor dam here it is reported. According to police, Jaison D’Souza, 25 and Avinash, 25 from Panjimogaru had gone to Maravoor dam.

Jaison accidentally slipped and fell into the river, which was swollen due to downpour in the region and to rescue him, Avinash too jumped into water. However, both were washed away in the heavy currents.

The incident occurred around 4pm. Sources claim that duo was sitting and drinking near the dam.  Bajpe Police, expert swimmers have arrived to the spot and search is on to trace the victims. A case has been registered at Bajpe Police Station.
