Udupi, June 06, 2020: A man and a woman, both senior citizens who were roaming in the service bus stand area despite a quarantine seal in their hands were intercepted by activists of the Udupi Nagarika Seva Samithi with the help of police on June 6, Saturday. The two were then sent to the quarantine centre at Adi Udupi.
It is learnt, the man was a seer of a Kerala Mutt and had come from Kerala, via Mangaluru. The woman who is of Shivamogga origin had come to Udupi from Mangaluru with an intention to return to Shivamogga. It is said she came to Mangaluru by a train from Varanasi.
The two were taken to the quarantine centre in an ambulance provided by the Nagarika Seva Samithi whose President Nityananda Olakadu even helped the police in intercepting the man and woman.
