Mangaluru, June 6, 2015 : A protest was staged  in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in the city on June 6, Saturday  by the Tulunada Rakshana Vedike to pressurise the administration to ban Maggi Noodles which is in the midst of controversy over having lead content and excess of MSG.

Participating in the protest, Yogish Shetty Jeppu, Founder President of the Vedike said  it was consumption of such harmful food that has  made the younger generation face many health issues. He also  criticised the manufacturer of Maggi for using top celebrities to promote the product and induce people to purchase it.

He further urged the authorities to conduct proper tests before permitting processed  food in the market.

Hameed Hassan, General Secretary of the Vedike and others spoke on the occasion.
