Mangaluru May 10, 2016: Tulunada Rakshana Vedike staged a protest outside Mangaluru City Corporation on May 9 Tuesday, against the MCC officials for their failure to tackle water problem in  the city.

Addressing the protestors, District President of the Vedike, Yogesh Shetty Jeppu said it was indeed a regret that  Mangaluru known as an educational and economic hub was facing acute scarcity of water since the past couple of months.

He was also critical of the authorities for allowing MRPL and SEZ to draw water from Netravathi till recently despite being aware of the impending crisis.

 He further said that the situation at present was such that people were forced to consume contaminated water.  Students of this is educational hub are sent back home for want of water in educational institutions and hostels, he added.

 Yogesh Shetty demanded strict action against the officials who show sluggish in their approach.

Later Tulu Rakshana Vedike presented a memorandum to the officials listing out its demands. Members of Tulu Rakshana Vedike Ibrahim, Anand, Dinaker Shetty, Shashidhar Shetty and others were present.
