Tulu textbook for first semester degree students released

Mangaluru, July 09, 2019: P.S. Yadapadithaya, Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore University, said here on Monday that the university will write to all affiliated colleges on introducing Tulu for its degree programmes starting from the first semester from the current academic year. It is to create awareness among students and colleges. With this, the colleges which have not introduced it at their level can do so from the next academic year.

The local enquiry committees, which will visit the colleges in connection with granting/renewing affiliations every year, will also apprise the college managements on the opportunity available on introducing Tulu.

The university has prepared three types of syllabi to teach Tulu – as the second language paper, as an optional subject, and as an elective paper under the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS). It is up to the colleges to take a call , he said.

He was speaking after releasing a Tulu textbook Siri Dompa for the first semester degree students at a function organised by Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy.
