Tulu culture showcased in ’Padanas’, Prof Bilimale

Mangaluru, Dec 27, 2016: Speaking on the first day of literature conference Jana Nudi 2016 organised at Shanthi Kirana hall in the city recently.  ’Padana’ is a narration on demons of Tulu Nadu and also biographies of dalits who are real inhabitants of coastal Karnataka especially Tulu Nadu. Biographies of dalits are more effective in narrating the lives of the dalits of Tulu Nadu in Padana, said Delhi University Prof Purushothama Bilimale

Speaking on the Tulu culture he said, it represents the rich heritage of coastal Karnataka. Life style, culture, traditions of the dalits in Tulu Nadu are the integral part of the Tulu culture and have influenced the life of the people.  Events like Koragara Gaja Mela, Dollu Kunitha, adventure art forms and others were showcased on the occasion.
