Tulu Movies with Social Messages must hit screens: Ramanath Rai

Mangaluru: September 26, 2015: District In-Charge Minister and Forest, Ecology and Environment Minister B Ramanath Rai said that the Tulu films, besides entertaining the mass, should also give good social messages and more and more number of such films should be encouraged by people.

He was speaking during the first show of the Tulu film ‘Chandikori’ at Suchitra Theatre in Mangaluru on Friday.

Film Producer Sanjiv Dandekeri, DK district Working Journalists Association president Jagannath Shetty Bala, Arjun Kapikad and Karishma Amin were present.

The film is released in 11 theaters. Suchitra, Big Cinemas, Cinepolis and PVR in Mangaluru, Kalpana in Udupi, Amarasri in Moodbidri, Nakshatra in B C Road, Aruna in Puttur, Bharat in Beltangadi, Radhika in Karkala and Nataraj in Suratkal.

The film is a combination of romance and humour. The film of two hours and 20 minutes has four songs, out of which some are sung by the director of the film Devdas Kapikad and his son and the lead actor Arjun Kapikad. A song is sung by Madhu Balakrishnan and Apoorva Sridhar. Manikant Kadri has provided the background score.

Karishma Amin is the female protagonist in the film. Navin D Padil, Bhojraj Vamanjoor, Aravind Bolar, Satish Bandale, Gopinath Bhat, Sharmila Kapikad, Sarojini Shetty, Master Kritin and others are in supportive roles.
