Kundapur,Oct 6, 2015 : Shivamogga MP and former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa has accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his cabinet colleagues of running a Tuglaq Durbar.
Speaking after inaugurating the second phase of the Raitha Chaitanya Yatra at Neralakatte-Shetrakatte in Byndoor on October 5, Monday, Yeddyurappa alleged that people of the state were disillusioned with the style of functioning of the government.The BJP will try its level best to come to power again and lead the state on the path towards a golden era, he added.
On the Smart City Project, Yeddyurappa said it is not enough if only towns are developed into smart cities. Even villagesn eed to be smart, he said and recalled the inclusion of around 5000 villages under Suvarna Grama Yojana during his tenure.
He said the Congress government which has failed in all aspects of governance had no moral right to continue in power. The state which stood forth in industrial development has now slipped to ninth position, he pointed out.
He further contended that the cities of Mangaluru and Udupi progressed during the tenure of the BJP govenment utilising the special grants provided by the then govenrment.
On the government decision to waive the interest on farm loans, Yeddyurappa said it was not suiffice and that the entire loan of farmers need to be waived off.
Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje, State BJP Vice President Sulochana Bhat, former minister Sriramulu, MLA Sunil Kumar, former minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, former Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat, former MLC Monappa Bhandari and others were present.
