Trinity Vihar, the Capuchin friary and chapel inaugurated

Udupi, May 19, 2012: Fr. Baptist Menezes, the Episcopal vicar of Udupi, inaugurated Trinity Vihar, the Capuchin friary and chapel, at Perampalli on March 18, Friday. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, the bishop of Mangalore Diocese, blessed the new building.

The bishop was the main celebrant of the holy mass held on the occasion. Fr. Vincent Furtado, Capuchin provincial for Karnataka, Fr. Baptist Menezes, Fr. J. B. Sequeira, superior, Fr. Romeo Lewis, parish priest of Our Lady of Fathima Church in Perampalli, and 53 other priests concelebrated. 


The chief guess of the felicitation program held after mass were the bishop, Fr. Vincent Furtado, Fr. Baptist Menezes, Fr. Frederick Mascarenhas, Fr. J. B. Sequeira, Fr. Romeo Lewis, and Sr. Noella Menezes. 


Fr. Furtado delivered the introductory address and felicitated the bishop with flowers and a shawl. He also felicitated Praveen Saldanha, who created the design for the new friary, and contractor Umesh Suvarna.
