Trasi accident victims said to be progressing

Mangaluru, June 25, 2016: It is good to note that amidst all the gloom in Trasi area, a five-year-old girl who sustained grievous injuries in the accident on June 21, Tuesday is getting better, but is still on ventilator. Lizel Crasta is improving and was much better than what she was earlier. The girl suffered left frontal bone (above eyebrows) and orbital bone fracture. She has low blood pressure, said the family who are all praying for her.

Anson, 11, who suffered mandibular fracture, is stable. He has been admitted for oral surgery. Fiona, who suffered a head injury, is slightly better, said sources. The other three children, Minora Risha Dias, 10, Mario Olivera and Oprah Crasta, 7, have been shifted to the ward.  

Speed governors in private buses must, MP Karandlaje : Shobha Karandlaje, MP, said that speed governors should be compulsorily installed in private buses to prevent accidents such as the recent one at Trasi, when a private bus rammed a van killing eight students. Speaking to reporters here, she said that such accidents would keep recurring if speed governors were not installed. “The district police should take immediate steps to check the speed of private buses,” she said. MP Karandlaje said she would be participating in a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police of the district soon, to urge them to take action on the matter.
