Tragic road death of young MRPL employee, in a bid to save dog

Mangalore, Aug 7, 2014: A young MRPL employee lost his life in a tragic road accident at Suratkal on  August 7. The deceased is identified as one Vineeth aged 22 years, residing in Jokatte.  Reports state that he lost control of his scooter in an attempt to avoid hitting a dog that suddenly crossed his path.

As per eye witnesses, Vineeth was riding his bike towards MRPL, at Kana, dog shot across the road without warning and came into his path.  In a reflex bid  to avoid harm to  the dog, Vineeth turned causing the two wheeler to go out of control and he fell on the road with great impact,  the shock and head injuries caused his immediate death.

Young Vineeth it is said is the son of  Manjunath, a native of Chikmagalur. Vineeth has been with  MRPL for just a year now.  The bike was new and yet to get a registration. His family was unaware of his new bike as he planned to surprise them according to his colleagues.  One version says he was speeding and had no helmet. Suratkal traffic police are investigating the case.
