Tragedy at temple:Photographer dies as retention wall collapses

Belthangady, Mar 8, 2015 : In a tragedy that occurred at the Koyyur Panchadurga Parameshwari Temple here where a Nagamandala was underway  during the wee hours of March 8, Sunday, a photographer who was covering the event met a tragic end when a retaining wall collapsed over him.

The deceased is Diwaker Acharya (35) of Puttur.

The mishap occurred when Diwaker rushed towards the wall when it began to rain, just to take possession of his camera cover which he had kept there. But tragically, the wall collapsed all of a sudden and he was buried under the debris.

 

The deceased was declared dead by the time he was rushed to the hospital. He was married two years ago and was the father of a child.

 

A case has been registered by Belthangady police.
