Mangaluru, Feb 25, 2021: Mayor Diwaker Pandeshwar in a welcome development has relaxed some rules in the trade licence renewal process for traders operating from rented premises.
Chairing the last meeting of his tenure on February 24, Wednesday, the Mayor said it was suffice to provide earlier year’s trade licence copy and a tax paid receipt of last year in case of application for renewal of trade licence.
The Mayor’s decision came following complaints from several corporators that officials were demanding a number of documents along with the application including the copy of the agreement between the owner and the tenant.
The Mayor also said those who find it difficult to provide the tax paid receipt can give an undertaking explaining reason for the same.
Earlier Corporators Naveen D’Souza, Sudhir Shetty Kannur and Premanand Shetty spoke about the problems faced by those applying for trade licence renewal.
