Top priority to Pumpwell Bus Terminus construction under Smart City Project : Mayor

Mangaluru, June 28, 2018: Mayor Bhasker Moily has informed that top priority would be accorded to the Pumpwell bus terminal construction under the Mangaluru Smart City Project.

 

Speaking to reporters here on June 27, Wednesday the Mayor informed that there are a total of 66 sub-projects under the Smart City Project and that approval has already been secured for 42 projects.

The task of conceptualisation, planning and DPR preparation was underway since one year, he added and informed that the project is expected to be completed by 2022.

The contract for all the works under Smart City project has been awarded to Wadia Techno Engineering Ltd, Louis Berger Consulting Pvt Ltd and Center for Development of Advanced Computing under Project Management Constance (PMC) category, the Mayor informed.

The Smart City Ltd. Co has the Commissioner of MCC as its  MD and CEO while the District Administration Secretary is the Chairman. Apart from the two,  the Mayor and three corporators are the directors.
The Mayor also informed that Rs 185.52 crore has been sanctioned by the Centre to the city under Amruth Scheme. Of the amount, Rs 4 crore would be utilised  for rain water culverts, Rs 2 crore for five parks and Rs 179.52 crore for drainage system.

Deputy Mayor Mohammad Kunjathbail, MCC Commissioner Mohammad Nazeer, Corporators Shashidhar  Hegde,  Naveen D’Souza and Praveenchandra Alva were present.
