Toll collection continues as protests shut Talapady

Mangaluru, Feb 11, 2017: Is reported that several organisations including Gadinadu Rakshana Vedike have called for Talapady 12 hour bandh from 06 AM to 06 PM on Saturday (February 11) as toll collection has continued for the third day on Friday at Talapady toll gate on national highway 66 (NH 66). The locals will also join their hands to protest against toll collection.

Shops, commercial establishments between Kotekar and Talapady will be closed as part of the protests. The vehicle movement will also be restricted on Mangaluru-Kasaragod national highway as part of the bandh called. Medical shops, news paper vehicles, ambulance have been exempted from the bandh.

The protests have begun from Wednesday as Navayuga Company started collecting toll at Talapady toll gate without completing four laning works of the national highway, service roads, bus waiting sheds and others according to the contract signed. Also, the company hasn’t yet made necessary arrangements for the passengers at Talapady toll gate.
