Toddy tapper falls from tree, dies

Mangaluru, March 09, 2020:   A toddy tapper died after he fell from a palm tree at Kolya in Peruvaje, near Bellare, in Sullia taluk on Sunday.

 

 

The deceased is identified as Raghunath Poojary (54), a resident of Kolya. The incident occurred when he was climbing the palm tree. Though he was rushed to a hospital, he succumbed to the injuries. Poojary was involved in toddy tapping for the last several years.
