Today midnight welcomes start of fishing after 60 days

Mangaluru, Aug 01, 2017: August 1, welcomes back fishing in DK and Udupi after a ’holiday’ of sixty days. Fishermen have been gearing up fore this day and all celebration  to move into the sea as annual trawling ban ends. In coastal Karnataka a government order stopped deep sea fishing  for the last 60 days and now mechanised fishing boats are expected to give good yield to the fishermen after a long break.

The fishermen have prepared for fishing after repair works of their boats, nets, tools, equipment and refreshing them selves.  All most all fishermen decorated their boats with flowers and other items to perform pooja. A cheerful atmosphere is expected among the members of the fishermen families as they have spent two months without income from their profession. The people of the coast, fish lovers too welcome the day as they will be able to get their favourite fish.
